Ok, this one has me a little concerned.

Durango has 107k on it.

ECM generated a P0355 (crankshaft position sensor failure), stopped driving and immediately replaced the crankshaft position sensor.
Upon initial startup after replacement (it cranked several times before firing) & the ECM has now generating a P0340 (camshaft positon sensor failure). So it's back to the autoparts for a new camshaft positon sensor, replaced the faulty camshaft sensor and cleared the original code.

Attempted to re-start after replacing the cam sensor and it's still generating the P0340 fault code. WTF

Uncertain what could be the root cause of this, outside of the new sensor being faulty.

Is it possible I'm experiencing a harness problem?

Harness ground is testing ok, and I've got 5v supply.

I guess I'll go back to the autoparts store for another sensor.

Swapped for another new sensor, unfortunately this didn't resolve the problem.

Welcome to DF
What size motor do you have? Depend on the motor, maybe you have a bad flex plate?

5.7 Hemi

How would a bad flexplate create these symptoms?
Isn't there an exciter ring/ or tone ring in front of the flywheel?

Some crank sensors gets it information from the tone wheel on the flex plate, Thats why i ask about the engine size. Are you using mopar sensors or aftermarket. And i know you said part store. If you are using aftermarket parts, get mopar parts.

It's a 5.7, and I already replaced with genuine mopar parts.

No change..

Anyone?

Just a thought here, but if the sensor is "known good", and the computer keeps telling you it isn't, then does it stand to reason that the sensor isn't picking up the proper reading from the cam itself? The only reason I mention this is because I had the same problem on an inline 4 bike engine, going through three sensors before I found the little "tips" on the end of the cam were too far away from the sensor. Computer kept telling me "bad sensor" and it was internal, not the sensor itself.

Once I solved that, it ran perfect & no more code. Just a thought.
