2007 Durango limited just eats 20" tires...
I was driving to work and I noticed it was doing 3,000 RPM at 75 MPH instead of 2,000 RPM. I shifted into neutral and then back into drive thinking it was stuck in "2" not in "D". No change and then later in the day the CIL came on and trouble code P0734 appeared (gear 4 incorrect ratio). Fourth gear was metal on metal and the other were on their way out at 61,200 miles. I towed my Coronet to Carlisle once last summer and that is the only time I ever towed anything. $3,200.00 to rebuild the transmission, but I am mostly to blame. I am not easy on the throttle, but I never flat footed it and try to keep the RPM below 4,000. I really like this Durango, its engine and its size as I have three daughters, but had a few problems.
Tires that go bald at 20,000 miles even after I used different brands.
Ignition would lock me out if the steering wheel was turned and not dead center. Had to have a locksmith rebuild the cylinder for $400.00.
The infamous gas tank binge and purge that was refunded after a year when it was recalled.
Now the transmission needed rebuilt.
I had a 2000 Honda Prelude for four years and then my wife drove for another three years that needed a new oxygen sensor that was covered under warranty. I am not bashing Dodge as I can not think of buying another brand and I will continue to buy their vehicles. I just hope that the improve their vehicles as my Coronet R/T is more reliable now.

Just replaced all 4 on mine with about 20-25k on the tires. Only 1 good tire, rest were wearing on outer edges. Broke tie-rod end sped up the need for tires, but they were wearing down long before that was an issue. Dealership put on 275-50 r20's when i bought it, so mabey the extra width played a factor. Got 275-55's now with allignment so we will see how long they last.
