Default Power Outlet Not working (fuse not blown)

Hello everyone! My name is Nikki

Im new here and have a quick question.

I drive a 2005 durango that I bought used about 3.5 years ago. My children need to do breathing treatments so we bought the adapter for the truck so we are able to plug in a regular plug you would use in the house plug. We have used this for 3.5 years now and this morning it just stopped working. My first thought was the adapter finally died but when we plugged it into the outlet in the center it worked. So I checked the fuse and it was fine also. Any suggestions what to look at next? I dont really know anything about cars just a mom hoping for a quick fix so no abbreviations please.'

thanks all!!

There are 2 fuses one for the front cig in the dash and one for the console and rear compartment plugs, you checked both?

I checked the one I "think"is for the power outlet in the dash. I looked in the fuse panel in the side by the driver side door. The 20amp fuse next to the big yellow airbag fuse??? Like I said totally new to this so I may have checked the wrong fuse?? When I bought the car it didnt come with a manual. It was kinda had to see the one I looked at online...

Any suggestion or pointing me in the right direction would be awesome!

Are you checking the fuse with a 12 volt test light or a DVOM? Just looking at the fuse doesn't really means its good. If you are using a test light, then you may want to remove the outlet and see if it is plug in. Or it maybe the outlet.
