Default Automatic trans oil change question

I have been trying to find out at what mileage is the recommended mileage to have the automatic transmission flushed. Right now I'm at 62k

Every 30,000 miles or two years. They will drop the pan, replace filter and the fluid. Should run you around $130 or so at a Dodge dealer.

Download your Owner's manual here: http://www.dodge.com/en/owners/manuals/

The Maintenance Schedule is in it.

I did mine at 30,000 miles and again at 60,000 miles. I used Royal Purple ATF.

I have a 2006 Durango. Re: transmission oil change - my owner's manual suggests drain/refill and filter change every 60K, but only if vehicle used for police, taxi, fleet, or frequent towing. Our vehicle is only used for family use. And vehicle has never been (and won't be) used for towing.

Am I correct in assuming our vehicle NEVER needs transmission fluid change? Manual seems to imply this.

Thanks for the help.

Cpotter,

I wouldn't say that it will never need a transmission fluid change. The service schedule requires a minimum to ensure active warranty coverage, under the warranty parameters.

The Owner's Manual states to have the transmission fluid level checked at every oil change, page 389 of the First Edition. Service enhancements may be suggested by an authorized dealer that can reflect local driving condition distinctions.

I hope this helps, let me know if you have additional inquiries.

Just do it at every 60k miles. Did the durango myself. If you're handy at all with simple tools, you'll have no issues.

I know there are no pics, but you can read this... https://dodgeforum.com/forum/2nd-gen...wap-today.html
