Can a battery cause a MIL to come on in 07 durango?
Yesterday the mil came on while my husband was driving our 07 Durango. It has 57,000 miles on it.
I mentioned the turn the key trick three times to find a code, but no code came up and then when he tried to start the Durango, nothing happened. I mentioned the battery because it had been corroded before. He took off all connections, cleaned the terminals and then jumped the battery. (It wouldn't start before wit just the cleaning) The light was off and we let it run for a while.
Then this morning the Durango didn't want to start at first, but then did. The mil is on again. I still can't get a code to come up. I might be doing it wrong, I turn it on but not to the point of turning on the engine. ??
Anyway could this just be the battery needs replacing? Is it safe to drive? The manual says it is for a bit but I'm not feeling comfortable with it and the dealer is a ways off.
Thanks in advance for any an all help/advice.
