This problem happened after changing the battery of the car and it happen from time to time and not always.
Do you think that is a programming problem??

This is an extremely common problem among all durangos from 2004-2009. I know of many many durango owners who have spent thousands on repairs with no luck at all. If you ask me, I think it's a wiring issue. My durango had this exact same problem where it would switch out of "all wheel drive" mode to "4X4 lock" all by its self. I finally got tired of it and instead spending so much money having the dealership "fix" it i just messed with it to get it back in "all wheel drive" mode and then shut the vehicle off immediately. Unplug the wiring harness from the 4X4 selector switch behind the dash and just leave it be for now at least. I have already replaced my switch with a new one from dodge at $50 and still had the same problem, so it is deffinently is all in the wiring. There must be a short somewhere or error in the computer. This method will at least get you back on the road. Since I have done this I have had no issues for the past 2 years. I have a 2005 durango hemi limited.

ok so im looking to take my gfs durango thats a 2008 4.7L Slt out of all wheel drive and make it a solo 2x4 with out removing the front drive shaft or having the anti roll over come on. when i called dodge they told me that there wasnt anything i can do and that i couldn't change from Only All wheel drive to selective 4x4. if anyone knows or have any idea on this i would love to hear them. but as far as the auto 4x4 there is a technition bullet out on all model electric 4x4 acrost the board. from chevy to mazda. about the Tccms burning out because of the constant call from engaging and disengaging the dif and TC. i have replaced several in the chevy 1500 and 2500 (including HD) both truck and blazer body styles. so maybe thats something to look in to as well.

Default 07 same issue

This has been happening in my 07 4.7 flex fuel. Goes into lock, then, after I play with the switch back and forth, goes back into awd. How hard is it to disconnect the switch and where can I find either the harness or the wiring on the transfer case? Any photos?
