Elusive Electrical Issues
'04 Dodge Durango Limited 5.7 Hemi, 4wd
194,000 miles.
This is a doozy, so be patient.
Problem #1 - last year the 4wd started going in and out on its own - it could be parked in the driveway not running with the keys in the house, or driving down the road, didn't matter. We spent over $500 trying to have someone figure out what was up to no avail. Someone said a transfer case motor ($1000) MIGHT fix it, but I didn't want to spend anymore, and I had read somewhere that was not a fix. We ended up snipping the wire just to be rid of 4wd after (enter problem 2).
I was left stranded with a dead battery. Everything got tested and came back totally fine after that - battery, starter, alternator, etc. Once we snipped the 4wd wire, all was good until yesterday - battery died. Nothing is getting left on, or anything. There are no codes that come up either.
Thoughts?

There is a highside pressure transducer on the air conditioning that shorts out the 5v reference cause the transfercase motor to shift on its own. To eliminate it just unplug it and see if it still acts up if not replace the transducer. I know you won't have air conditioning while your testing. If it still acts up them it's possible the transfer case motor is at fault.
