Jeep 4.7 Into durango problems
Hello i was hoping someone here might be able to help me with an issue I am having. I work at a small shop and a customer brought in his 2004 durango with a 4.7, From what he tells me the original; motor blew up and he swapped in a engine from a 2002 grand cherokee and it wont run. I have found that we needed to swap out the cam gear with the sensor wheel. I have done that. Now it will fire but run very poorly, i need to have the throttle all the way open and some times it will run only a few rpms then die other times it will run at 2000 rpms then i will loose came signal and it will shut down. On my scanner i have no sync with my crank have checked the circuit and the crank sensor are both working fine as well as the cam sensor and wiring. Pulled it back apart and the timing is dead on, anyone done this before?
I've never done this myself. What scanner are you using? I know on my scanner there is an option to "relearn" the cam sync that has to be performed whenever the cam is messed with.
