Front Sway Bar End Links

Front Sway Bar End Links
I'm helping a friend redo his entire front end an '05 Durango, and I can't for the life of me get the lower bolt off of the sway bar end links. I am able to get the bolt to turn just fine, but it looks like it's just turning the ball inside the lower part of the end link and there's no place to put a wrench to keep it from spinning. Do I need to cut/remove the rubber boot to get access to a place to put the wrench? I have an AllData subscription as well as the FSM (which I found for free HERE), but neither are any help since they both simply say "Remove the lower nut". Seems like if I can't keep the ball on the other end from spinning then there's no way to get the nut off. Any suggestions?? I have done this job plenty of times on other cars, both front and back, and never had this problem before.

If you are not reusing the links, you might be able to get a vise grip on the end that it turning to be able to break the bolt loose.
FYI, NAPA makes a replacement link for the 2nd gen D that sells for $40 with a lifetime warranty.
Beats the heck out of the outrageous price they want for the OEM parts.
