Default Power window won't go up

Yesterday it was warm and I rolled the left rear window all the way down. Now it won't roll up. All the other windows work fine. I took apart the regulator and mechanically it is fine. I plugged the motor in and with either the drivers switch or the one in the left rear door the motor will run down, but not up. Any ideas?

sounds like a broken cable on the window regulater, also theres a plastic cable guide towards the very bottom that might be broken as well causing the cable to dangle loose, will go down, but, not up when this happens..i cant imagine both switches went bad...

Default Thanks for the guess

Thanks for the guess but this is a 2007 2nd generation D so it does not have cables in the window mechanism. I have ordered a new master (drivers door) switch group and hopefully that will fix the problem. The motor is a simple DC circuit with 2 leads so somewhere down the line the D changes the polarity to send it the opposite direction. My best guess was the master switch went bad. There are several old posts about the lockout button causing problems so hopefully this will help. I will update when the new part gets here. thanks for trying.

I had the same problem. Turns out it was a broken wire right at the plastic connector to the door. I spliced around the connector and all was good. Volt meter at the connector will tell if switch is faulty and no juice is making it on the down wire.

Default Fixed!

The replacement master switch (the one in the drivers door) came and 5 minutes later my problem was solved. $26 for the part and just a little of my time. The switch is lifted out from the rear, you don't need to take the door panel off. Probably some gremlin moved into the old one. Thanks for the reply's.
