2004 durango tranny t-case problem
My daughter has a 2004 durango 5.7 hemi. When she goes down the road it will make a load clunk sound, slow down, and have hi rpm's like it went to 4-lo. One scan said transmission sensor "c", took it to another place and they said tranny was fine. She gets the services done regularly. When this happens, she turns off the engine, waits a few minutes and restarts, and it is fine the rest of the day. I am a not up on the electronic AWD 4hi 4lo to be of much help to her. Help please.

The issue you describe is well known on the Gen 1 Durangos, and to a lesser extent on the Gen 2 D's like your daughter has.
The fact that she can shut it off and restart after a bit suggests it is an electronics issue.
The TCCM or transfer case control module on the Gen 1's was The cure. On the Gen 2's, it is usually the transfer case shift motor.
You can unplug the harness at the T case from the shift motor as a temporary fix until she can have it repaired.
