05 Durango wont start, security light flashes
05 durango SLT, 5.7 Hemi
OK, I have had this problem for 3 weeks now. Here is what is going on. 3 weeks ago I was running errands, 3rd stop of night I get out of Truck press button on fob to lock horn beeps as normal. I come out press fob unlock all good hop in it turns over then nothing and little red light flashes. I then try again dash light flicker then nothing and red light flashing on dash. After some tinkering I decide to replace battery in fob and truck. Nothing at first then boom starts drive it home thinking all good. Wake up next morning same thing Security light flashing and wont start, I research stuff and find to disconnect battery for a bit, reconnect after period of a few hours, lock doors and use key turn to right to lock then left unlock. Do it and magic it starts. Works for 5 days, I went to mall and came out and triggered alarm but it started until next AM and then same issue red flashing light once in while lights would flicker on dash. Do the same battery disconnect, lock , key trick magic again and works. Starts fine for 7 days then yesterday wife left windows open so I turn key to close windows. Left it sit few hours then went to park it and didnt start. Red flashing light occasionally dash lights flash. I undid battery over night but didnt do lock and key thing and didnt start in AM. Gonna try Batt, lock, key trick again see what happens. In the mean time I took to mechanic and they said it worked fine everytime for them cant repeat issue and computer has no codes in it. Now I dont know why this would affect anything but my check engine light is on for one of my Cat's that needs replacing....What is causing my car not start and security light comming on. Please help. A co-worked said his did same thing and he took it to a dealer who charged him 2,000 to replace some computer when his acted similar. If thats it what computer would it be and how hard is it to replace? Please help and sorry for the book i just know more info is helpful.
