I have a 2006 Durango sxt and I bought it from a used car lot without a key fob or chip key.. I have no problem with it.. I decided today to call dealership and get a keyless entry remote for it they told me that my Vin comes back as a chip key model and my fob is connected to my key or the vehicle will not crank and run without it .. it will cost me $200 for the ignition switch and another 200 per key and another 55 to have each key programed to car.. I told them it has been running fine without a chip key.. they told me that the ignition system is malfunctioning then..
