Default Towing brake question

I have a 04 5.7 Durango with the towing package and I want to install a good quality electronic trailer brake unit.
Who makes a good unit that mount under the dash and what is involved in wiring it up to the factory harness. Thanks

Default RE: Towing brake question

I've always used Tekonsha brake controllers.

They are really easy to wire up. I used a wire crimping kit and connected the wires from the controller to the factory harness according to the instructions. I also put some heat shrink around the crimp for extra durablity. The blue connection then connects up under the dash on the left side behind the emergency brake. You can't miss it. Route the wires around your peddles to where you wish to mount the controller in a horizontal or vertical position and you ready. Then with Tekonsha its just a matter of adjusting the "level" **** and the "gain" **** to adjust the amount of braking in the trailer.
