Default Aftermarket stereo trouble in 05 with Infinity System

I installed a double din deck and picked up a Scosche CR4000A wiring harness so I could keep the factory features( RAP, factory amplifier, chimes, etc). Now when I shut off the vehicle and open my door the sound goes off but the screen stays on. I have to shut it off manually every time I leave the vehicle. Has anyone else had this problem or know how to fix it. Thanks

Where did you buy it from? Only asking because Crutchfield has excellent tech support if you purchased it from there.

I picked it up on ebay hoping to save a few bucks. i have seen other posts about this Scosche harness not working properly, i may just replace it with the PAC brand. But, i have also read some of the same issues with that brand. I am just grasping at straws here to get this thing working right.

It doesn't go off EVER or just RIGHT AWAY? The reason I ask is because some circuits in the D will not shut off for like 3 or 5 minutes. Depends on which wire controls the screen power and what circuit that wire is on.

The sound shuts of as soon as I open the door, but the screen will not shut off until i push the power button on the unit. I have left it for over 20 minutes to see if it would shut off and it hasnt. Now this morning I woke to a dead battery. i think the deck is still draining juice but the only thing on is the power button light on the unit after i shut it off.

There's alot I could say. To keep this short I willjust start by saying that you need to identify which wire in the harness powers the unit power button. I'm sure there are more things on that circuit than just the button. Once you know the wire post it's colors and pin number in the harness. Basically you need to find out if that wire is supposed to be on a non-switched power source. If it is on a switched power source then you probably have a short. If the wire is on a non-switched power source then moving the wire to a switched source would most likely solve the problem.

Well I ended up running a wire with an inline fuse from my power(lighter) socket to the red aux power cable going into the stereo harness. Now the interface seems to be doing what it is supposed to. The stereo shuts off when I open my door and the factory amplifier is working. Then two days later my battery was dead, I had the battery tested at the dealership and it came up all good, then I had it tested for a power draw after it was shut off and there was no draw. None of this started until I hooked up this aftermarket dvd/nav deck and the Scosche Interface. Has anyone seen heard of this happening before?

There is a fuse in the junction box to the left of the drivers feet. In that box is a fuse right in the center. It is so that you can have power to the cigarette lighters if the key is off. You might need to move that fuse to where the power to the cigarette lighter is not on when the key is off. The owners manual explains which fuse and where to move it.

That might be the issue now.

edit: If I am not mistaken it is fuse #35, a 20 Amp. There are THREE female slots at that fuse spot: Top two make it either hot on key off (or cold on key off) and the bottom two make it the opposite of the top two. Try moving the fuse: If it is in the top two, put it into the bottom two and vice versa. Then do the parasitic draw after about 5 minutes of key off.

I am experiencing similar issues with an after-market DVD player and the stock radio. I have a thread about it, that's why I am trying to help; it's fresh in my skill set :-)

Thanks for the great info. I did check and my cigg. lighter is on a switched circuit. I had the battery tested again with a VAT40 tester, and it came up marginal at best and would not really keep a charge, so I replaced the battery with a factory one from the dealer. 4 days and no problems. But on a new fully charged battery it could be a few more days before the draw kills it. heres hopin my issue is resolved.
