Clunking from front end
Hi all, this is my first post here. Just picked up a 2004 Durango, 5.7 Hemi Limited AWD, with 4lock and 4lo. 130k on body, 42k on rebuilt engine and just replaced the transmission with a 52k mile unit. Just finished a few days ago, initial test drive was good but I now noticed a problem when I took it on the highway.
When slowing down, from any speed, only between 40-35 mph there is a clunk coming from the front, I haven't really heard it but I can feel it in the car, it's very noticeable. If I brake to 40 and let it coast below 35 it doesn't do it. I just noticed it last night so I haven't gotten it on jacks to get under it yet. Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions to look at. I really hope it isn't the transmission, but I have a 30 day warranty so if I have to rip it out again so be it.
Thanks, Steve
