Here's the difference between other CAI's and Clear Images. Check out the long down tube and look where the S&B air filter is. Nice fresh cold air.

On the first test drive I noticed a slight "whistling" noise on acceleration. Some re-adjustments had to be made where the throttle body boot meets the factory housing, it just wasn't lining up right. I did get it to move a little and on the 2nd test run, the whistling noise disappeared. I didn't notice much difference in the noise department over the stock setup. The S&B filter's location is far enough away from the engine compartment so you don't hear the "sucking" sound like you do with other intakes, my only concern is that living in the Northeast where it snows like a mother, that the filter might get clogged with snow and ice.
So far I have been impressed with this setup. I really like the looks of it and the quality is top notch. One slight mod I did was to use a slightly bigger 5 ply silicone sleeve to connect the 2 intake tubes. I guess the real test will be in the gas mileage dept. I'm not going to blow smoke up anyones a** and tell them I can see a difference in acceleration over the stock unit. I didn't notice it. I also didn't notice it when I used an AIRAID intake on my Dakota 4.7 or when I used a 360 Airintakez system on my Dakota. I believe it takes a combination of mods to really see any difference in acceleration. Will post more at a later time...

No problem. Hope it has been informative. Other things I like about this intake is that it attaches directly to the factory housing and not to the throttle body so no screwing around w/removing the housing or relocating the IATS.

Just drove home from work on the interstate while it was raining pretty good. I decided to check the filter and found that it was soaking wet, not good. I'm going to check w/Clear Image and see if the downtube can be eliminated for those of us that live in areas that have crappy weather. [sm=boohoo.gif]

They are working on it and will have a solution by the weekend. In the meantime, I hope to have some gas mileage figures soon. I'm still liking this CAI from Clear Image.
