knocking noise
Well this is a new noise, just had tune up and oil change a couple of weeks ago... engine now makes a knocking noise while idling and the knocking noise speeds up as accelerating, she definitely has over 130,000 miles on her.... according to repair pal this is a common thing in Dodge models 98-2012 and is typically the exhaust manifold bolts and gasket, I thought that was a pretty big range and figured I would ask.. thanks.

Does your Durango have the 5.7L Hemi? If so, this is a very very common problem. I worked at a Chrysler dealership for a year, and we had well over 30 trucks in that time where we replaced exhaust manifold bolts, and multiple others that the owners didn't want to fix the issue.
Sounds exactly like our '04 4.7L. Is it worse when the engine is cold, and quiet down a bit as the engine warms but never go away completely? Our mechanic replaced the broken manifold bolts and the noise went away completely. Added bonus was our gas mileage radically increased from mid 14's to mid 18's now. Not bad for the $375 repair bill. Just had this done about three weeks ago.
