545RFE Solenoid - Reman vs. New
Yep, gotta replace mine surprise surprise. 2006 SLT V8 4x4. Researched enough to know exactly what I needed, but also trying to save a bit of money where I can.
I can get an entire kit with some (unknown to me) filters and gasket for about $300, this includes a new solenoid. Or I can get a reman, and separately purchase the WIX kit for about $100 less. The reman part has a lifetime warranty. That is all fine and good and all but there is something to be said about reliability. $100 off is great, but is the trade off going to be a greater likelihood of breaking down in the middle of nowhere (not quite worth $100).
Any experience on this from anyone? Any good sources that I may be overlooking? Thanks!
