Default 2 Questions - 1 about Cats and 1 about MAP sensor

Before I start, I do have another post here about a problem that I am having, but it is probably longer than it should be and is not for the faint of heart https://dodgeforum.com/forum/2nd-gen...ml#post3368916

Question is kinda relevant, but different enough to create a separate thread.

4.7 L Durango SLT 2006. CA Emissions (though I don't live in an emissions state, so not really applicable other than this is what it has).

So, does this model have 3 cat's (2 pre-cats? + 1 cat) or just the 2 just attached to the manifold. I can look, but not at home with the truck at the moment. I never even looked beyond the 2 out of the manifold, so thought that is all I had. However, doing a bunch of research, I am not sure now. I am having backfiring and some misses (no CEL) in the cats right after the manifold. When looking at parts, there doesn't seem to be a difference in the Y-Pipe for 48 state vs. CA/NY. Is there? If so, where the heck can I find that part at?

OK, I have had MAP sensor issues previously with this vehicle and some of the symptoms I have now are similar, but can't remember if before I had a CEL or not. I would have thought so, but can't remember. So, question is - can a MAP sensor be going bad without a light? Or is that pretty much impossible? Thanks!

MAP sensor has a couple failure modes that won't set a code. If it's vacuum source is *buggy*, either partially restricted, or a bit leaky, the PCM won't know the difference, but, will still use that data to try and run the engine..... Trick would be to look at data when it is running good, and then compare that to when it is not. See what changes.
