I have a 2005 Durango with 4.7 (N), after it warms up the oil pressure light starts beeping. I have replaced the sending unit twice, and put a mechanical pressure tester on it and it showed 12 lbs. of pressure at 550 rpm. I just did an oil change with 5w-30 max life, thinking that maybe my oil was thinned out. As soon as I idle it up over 600 rpm the light goes off. What could be the issue?
We ended up bumping up the idle to 600 rpm from the 550 and that seems to have solved the issue of the pressure switch setting off the dinging in the cab.
