2006 Dodge Durango MDS OBDII Code P3441
I have a 2006 Dodge Durango Limited with the 5.7L Hemi motor with approximately 140k Miles. The check engine light came on with the code P3441 for an issue stating: Cylinder 6 Deactivation/Intake Valve Control Circuit/Open.
The check engine light comes on after you first start the motor and drive a few miles (motor is cold). Once the motor is hot and I reset the code the check engine light does not come back on until the motor cools off and I start driving with a cold motor.
The motor is not running rough and there are no other symptoms other than the check engine light and the P3441 code it is sending.
I changed the oil, as one of the possible issues I read online was with low oil pressure or oil change needed. I didn't think that would be it as the oil level was good and I change the motor oil every 4k miles and use full synthetic and good quality filters.
I have also read that it could be a plugged oil passage that could cause this. I am leery about trying a oil flush as it could remove deposits on possibly bad gaskets and create leaks.
I also see it could be the cylinder 6 MDS Solenoid. But I am not sure of this as once the motor is warmed up the code no longer is being sent. I would assume if it were actually the solenoid it would have the code all the time.
Has anyone had an issue like this or any ideas for things to try to resolve this issue?

I have the same vehicle and experienced the same code with similar conditions, except the code always returned after clearing unless I drove in tow mode, which disables the MDS.
This happened shortly after an oil change, but with my scan tool I was able to complete an active test and the cylinder 6 solenoid was failing the electrical circuit test.
I replaced all six solenoids with the non-Mopar upgraded steel body design. I also changed out all 16 spark plugs with the factory Champion plugs, and cleaned the throttle body.
The engine idled great on startup but ran sluggishly under load. I cleared adaptations and reset the ECU using the scan tool, and the next test drive went great. Felt like when the vehicle was new.
On the third drive, after an easy and smooth warmup, the engine bucked while accelerating. I had the feeling that I was stuck in 4 cylinder mode. I reset memory, drove in tow mode, and the engine performed perfectly. As soon as I went out of tow mode, the bucking restarted when trying to accelerate.
Any ideas on what to do to get the MDS working properly?
