Default 3 fuel pumps in 2 weeks?!?

Any ideas on what would cause 3 fuels pumps to go bad in just a couple of weeks? Here's the back story, as far as I know the original fuel pump was still installed with 190k miles on it, it went bad inexplicably one morning, started fine, drove to work, even stopped to get gas and later when I tried to start it again, no start. The shop I took it to got it to run again but said the pump was intermittent and would eventually fail (btw, I work at a dealership, it was my own guys so I trust them). I was going to Florida from VA the next week so I said replace it. Ran fine all the to Florida then failed again. The shop I took it to said they couldn't find any other reason for it to fail. Replaced the pump and it ran fine for another week then failed again today. I have to believe there is a larger issue at hand. Any ideas???

Were those OEM pumps? If so, I would start looking at power and ground. Either one being iffy will heat the pump up.

Turns out you weren't far off the mark. The line in to the power distribution box where the pump relay is located was shorting out, creating an intermittent failure.

Ah, so it wasn't actually the pump failing at all?

I hate it when that happens.

I think i'm going to run my own hot wire.. it seems a few have that problem and i'm having that problem now..

I wish dodge had made it easier to access the fuel pump connector on these... I'm tempted to cut a fuel pump access door.
