Hi, I have a 2006 Durango with a 4.7. It sounds like diesel on first starting in the mornings (lifters I imagine) I don't think it's long for this world. I found a 2004 (complete truck) that has a 5.7. It runs great but the tranny is out. Question is will my tranny swap? Mine also has various electrical issues as well. i.e. engine light off and on, complete power loss at times and several other things happen, depending on the day.

My engine rattles at startup as well. Has as long as I have owned it. Hasn't gotten any better/worse either, so, at this point, I am just not going to worry about it, and deal with other issues first. Think I would try and sort your other issues, see what it has to say, and take it from there.

What oil are you running in the engine?? Last time you had an oil change?

You wanna be in the 2nd Gen Durango section. (I think..... verify the year coverage. )
