Hello,
Power door locks have been acting up for months. Started with working sometimes and only working some doors other times.
The owners manual for this vehicle is terrible in giving you information for which fuses are for what and fuse panel covers only list 75% of what fuses do. I even tried googling and calling local dodge dealer for fuse diagram (nothing)
about a month ago I did locate a couple of 20a fuses under dash that were blown, I replaced them and everything worked again.
then after a week or so... back to same issue, key fob would not lock or unlock, controls on doors don't work for door locks . When you pressed the power door lock button you could here like a high pitch soft long beep in door speaker.
so I checked fuses again, blown again and then worked again. Then a weeks or so, back to same issue, but this time fuses were not blown.
got frustrated and for about 3 weeks I did not bother with it. But it's a pain not being able to open my back hatch and climb in car to unlock back doors. So this week I started to check it again, but now nothing at all, not even that long high pitched sound in speaker. I checked those 2 fuses again and they are fine.
so not knowing what a lot of other fuses are for , I pulled all of them and check them and they are fine.
SO TODAY- I replaced door actuator, check those fuses again(still ok) , unhook battery for about 20 mintues and still nothing works.
oh and control panels on door are not broke I checked that also, I even replaced the one on drivers door just in case.
Do 1 off those relay things in fuse box under hood do anything for power door locks?
Anyone have some clue of what may be going on here?
Thank You

Looks like the 2004 durango has the same faulty switch as the Ram Trucks. Usually it's the power windows that are an issue but I suppose this could effect the door locks as well. What happens is the solder joints break inside the switch causing them to work intermittently or not at all. Check out the attached youtube video on how to fix this.

If that's not it, check the wire bundles that feed each door starting with the driver side. You'll have to pop the rubber cover out then pull it back then inspect all the wires. What happens is after years of opening and closing doors, the wires break causing a short. Sometimes they make contact, sometimes they don't. Eventually, the plastic breaks completely and they make no contact or contact other broken wires and blow fuses. If any are broken, repair them and move on to the next door until all are fixed.
