Fob turns off alarm but will not unlock doors
2006 Dodge Durango (Hemi)
When my family first got this car a few years ago, someone unlocked the car manually and the alarm went off for about 10 minutes before someone had decided to put the key in the ignition and start the car to stop the alarm.
Ever since then the auto locks no longer work, as well as the radio/CD player. I'm assuming it's some kind of fuse?... The fob will "unlock" the car but all is does is deactivate the alarm and the key is still needed to manually unlock the car. And all other doors have to be unlocked from the inside manually before people can get in.
Any way for us to fix this easily or does it sound like something a mechanic will have to take car of?

The VTSS no longer has a disarm feature so the fob and key is what disarm the alarm. The other way is turn the key on and start and the alarm will go off. The best way to fix your problem is to replace the fob and key and program. You would need to have the fob program with a star scan. Which the dealer may or may not have. Since they are using a micro pod to program the vehicle now.
