Out 06 sputters and almost dies when stop waiting for a red light or at a stop sign, almost dies when idling. Husband took to it to get read, codes popped up as a misfire. Rpms drop to 500 than shoots back up to 1000, drives ok down the highway with little to no sputter. Help me prepare myself for a super expensive shop fix, what's wrong???

 

How old are the spark plugs and such? Might just be time for a tune up. (although, I think even minor work is friggin' expensive these days......) Also, probably wanna give the throttle body a good cleaning.
