Torque converter?
Hey Dodge Fam,
Its a 2006 with the 4.7, 300k km.
This used to the wifes daily. We got a new to us R/T, so I took over the old beast.
I hardly ever drove this one.
Ive noticed that...it doeant have a whole lot of get up and go. I know theyre not speed demons, but like on when out on the hwy and I kick it down to pass, it just....takes it time.
Ive also notice a bit of a rough idle when sitting, which Ive been told and read can be a sign of a torque converter. Backing out of the garage, the vehicle seems to...shudder...with or with out the brakes on. Total brake job about 45k ago.
Climbing hills on the hwy really seems to test it as well.
I swapped the filter and flushed the trans about 30k km ago.
Shifts amazing, nice and smooth.
Ive read about a solenoid in the trans that seems to be an issue.
Just seeing if anyone might have some insight.
Ive been prowlingbthe forum posts, so far nothing relateable, but I'll keep looking.
The local auto shop is pretty good but, theyre pretty busy to just chat about things.
Thanks guys
Leon
