Default Lazy brake pedal

hello all,

i have a 2004 Durango SLT and the brake pedal will not return to the upright position by itselt. I have to get my toes under it and lift up pretty hard for the brakes to release.
i don't seem to have any vacuum leaks or MIL. The brakes seem to work just fine when applied though.
Any ideas from anyone?

I don't think the brake pedal has a return spring but if it does, the spring broke. I suspect your brake booster is beginning to fail.
