Default Failed emissions

I have a 2004 Durango Limited. I just bought it 5 months ago and decided to put a K&N cold air intake and an AIRRaid throttle body spacer on. I took it today to get inspected and the guy told me that he can't inspect it because the sensors are offline. The computer needs to be reset. He says that happens when you disconnect the battery or it dies. ANyone know anything about this? Do you think that the aftermarket parts contributed? Will they void the Warranty? Thanks -wc

How'd the guy know the sensors were offline? Here in WI they won't test it if you have any warning lights on, but they don't really dig under the hood.

It sounds like if your battery was disconnected, causing the Monitors to be reset. Monitors run under certain condition, (certain speed, gear, temp, etc) and if they have not run, the vehicle will fail emisions. All I can recommend would be to do some city and highway driving to see if that will take care of it or other option would be to remove the throttle spacer and take it to the dealer stating it failed and they can force the monitors to run with the Star Scan diagnostic tool.
