Default Ok to use Super Unleaded in 05' Durango?

I know the book calls for just regular unleaded. But honestly, it be just a few cents cheaper if I could use Super unleaded.

Is this an ok thing to do?

I use 93 octane, I tried the cheap stuff and seemed to run kind of blahh. It won't hurt to use it though.

Well... as I understand (and read somewhere), the Premium gas (93 octane) has the characteristics of slow burn and high temperature needed by sport cars. In the article that I read, they mentioned that Premium gas will create carbon deposits on engines that are intended for Regular gas. In other words, more octane doesn't exactly means more power.

But, when you mentioned "Super Unleaded", are you talking about 93 octane gas? Or, is this any special Regular gas?

Regards,

its best to run the recommended octane. Like stated before octane is a measure of how slow or fast the fuel will combust. The timing on the engines are set based on those octane levels. If you want to run a higher or lower octane, you need to take your vehicle to a mechanic and have them adjust the timing for that particular octane setting or optimum performance.
