If you have a model that includes a outlet inside the console arm rest then plug it there. My 2005 Durango SLT has 3 plugs (one on the dash, One in the Back on passanger side panel behind 3rd seat and one in the console armrest). The one in the armrest is the only one that stays active when the car is off. That is where I plug in my power converter for my laptop and I always have power running into it.
