Default 2005 Durango cigarette lighter

What do I need to do to make the cigarette lighter active even when the vehicle is not running. i hate that I cannot leave my phone charge while I go to eat or something like that because the outlet is dead when the engine is off.

Thanks
Jim

Just use the socket inside the middle console, it is always powered, even when the car is off.

which socket are you talking about? I only have one socket up front and it is on the right side below the stereo and it is off when the engine is off.

There is Cigarette lighter in the center console. But mine powers down when the key is out of the ignition.

the only outlet I have is under the stereo, there is space for two, but I only have the one on the right side of there and then one back in the cargo area

You don't know about the extra storage space in the centre console?? The black tray can be pulled out, this gives you access to a deeper hidden recess. The power outlet is there, as well as some more Cd storage.

Well, this isn't secret but if you plan on adding an aftermarket amplifier to the car the small storage area behind the third row seat is perfect.

Look in your manual too. I just found this out yesterday, but you can have all the outlets "hot" by rotating one fuze on the fuze block.

Cool Beans! I just went out and switched the fuse around and VIOLA all of my power outlets are always powered up. Thanks for the Tip[sm=smiley20.gif]
