Default Well... Never thought I would be driving a durango !

New to this member thing.......
Been looking for a vehicle for quiet some time now........... leaning towards a nissan.....
Happen to drive through the lot....and the wife seen a 2005 limited black durango and fell in love with it....we drove it and it sold itself.
The cost compared to other vehicles with the same miledge w/warranty was more reasonable than we thought....the dealer bent on the price.....ended up with extended warranty, limited 5.7 hemi w/13000 miles, only thing missing was navigation... if I can't find my way aroud north dakota I'm in trouble.... anyway we got it for $24000.
I was able to research overnight and could not find anything wrong with all reviews being exceptional.
Now that I look at this sight and other problems, such as motor shutting down with no warning and other problems....I;m starting to have second thoughts.
My question....is there allot of problems with the durango's that I'm getting into..........or is this just a few just like any other manufacture....?

Welcome,

I am actually about to go pick up my Durango at the dealer. I had the check a vibration in the brakes. I had to have the front rotors/pads replaced already due to warping. Now I am having the same symtoms but the dealer says its coming from the rear. So looks like I have to replace those as well.

I still don't understand why I had to/have to change front and rear rotors/pads on a new vehicle with under 27K miles. I've noticed in the forum that some have gone aftermarket. Looks like that where I have to go!

There is nothing wrong with the Durango brakes. What probably happened was the previous owner had the wheels rotated and some idiot over torqued the wheel nuts. As the rotors are the floating type ie loose until the wheel is tightened. Over torquing them warps the rotors. Find a service dept that knows the correct torque.
