Default Burning smell though vent?

I have only 6000 miles left on warranty so I got to figure this out. After punching it to get on the highway, about 30 seconds later I get a buring smell though the ac vent and the ac is on recirculate. Any Ideas?

Since it happens after you floor the gas, it could just be the gas burning that you're smelling. Maybe check your owners manual and make sure that you're using the right octane fuel, change your oil, etc, and see if it still happens.

I had my wifes 06 Durango Limited out this morning.. I romped on it a bit and I noticed the same thing.. We have only had it 9 days. I wonder if it is just a byproduct of the design or an issue that will turn into a carbeque.. I will let you know if I find anything.. Maybe its time to break out the flir.. ;&gt

I had to drive the durango yesterday and I romped on it to get on the highway and for as strong as the smell was I should have seen smoke. Something is definetely being melted. I called dodge hq and my wife is dropping it off tommorrow at the dealer after taking a part replacement monkey for a ride. It happens after truck is warm and and stomping on it for two down shifts to get up to speed. 30 seconds later burning smell through ac vent definetely.

I did. but it's a 2006 with only 1000 miles on it.. I would hope that isn't the issue.. although I guess you never know.. I am curious what the other guy finds out.

I would guess that maybe they just decided to do something about this. Everyone remembers fight club right? LOL

I had it at the dealer all week and nothing. I drove with a tech today and it came on faintly. I got under the truck with the tech and we both saw nothing. I even called dodge hq for documentation. Plastic bag? wire loom? Maybe touched the header and burned off. If your durango does the same please post solutions or if you have the problem.
