Default CAI on an 06 Hemi with MDS

Howdy ho..

Has anyone here put a CAI on an 06 Hemi with MDS? What was your experience? I ordered one today and then when I went to pick my DD up at the dealer the service guy was telling me that the CAI doesn't work well with the MDS and fly by wire throttle..

I can't say anything about MDS, but the drive-by-wire throttle probably won't give your CAI any problems. My BMW has a carbon canister intake with larger cold/ram air pipe, similar path as stock, just larger diameter; it's been on there for over a year and has never set off a CEL or caused any problems with the electronic throttle. Frankly, I don't see MDS causing the intake or exhaust any problems, since the throttle has to be held perfectly steady, like in cruise control, for it to go on; but it'll definately be a learning experience.

Please post info (and pix if possible) on your CAI.

It's on the UPS truck.. It should be here on Monday. If I have time Monday night I will install it and take it for a test drive.. ;&gt I am redoing the interior on my Shelby Cobra so I might get a bit distracted.. ;&gt

EEEWWWWWW FORD LOL. No but seriously that Cobra is sick. Is it a real one or one of those replicas? I saw one once a while back in my drive-thru during my Taco Bell days. It was a loud mother. [sm=badbadbad.gif]

Okay, so by Tues or Wed we should know about the intake AND the exhaust and if they'll work on MDS. Take pix if possible. I was looking at that "expansion chamber" or whatever thing is that's part of the intake and sits above the radiator fan; hope it's not there for the MDS.

Sweet Cobra, we should swap: BMW M roadster for Cobra kit car. You'd have to throw in a couple grand.

That's good news. I installed the Mopar/Borla exhaust yesterday and so far it has caused no problems with the MDS. You can read more about it on the thread titled Mopar/Borla exhaust.

So I put the CAI on my wifes durango. Its a lot louder now under the hood. That chamber must be there to quiet things down. Definite improvement in tip-in..

Looks really good on there. Mine's on order; I got the 63 series, I think. The tube is plastic instead of aluminum, supposed to be a little quieter.
