Transmission feels funny
Has anyone experienced this? When my wife or I get into our Durango and start it, then put it in gear, either reverse or drive, sometimes there is a slight delay before it moves, even when slighty revving it up. Is this a problem or is it designed like that? It doesn't do it all the time. It's an '05 Durango 4.7l.
I appreciate any help.
Thanks

My 04 does the same thing with the Hemi. 23K on the vehicles and no major problems. From a standing start just a little hesitation, but after it gets it runs like a demon. I have heard that there is a little bit of power loss along the drive train, but nothing that can't be overcome.
I know when my D is cold it does this as well but after it gets moving it's fine. I haven't driven my D in 3 days and I took it out to get gas and some breakfast this morning and it was very sluggish. This is very common among 1st gen D's.
Have had similar occurrences with my 06 Durango. Also, when I get on the highway, start to accelerate and then sometimes slow down to merge (we're talking a 5mph difference) there is sometime a mild ca-chunk shift that I feel. Mainly at this one highway entrance.
