Default 9145 Foglight Bulb Problem

I went to change out a burnt out foglight in my 2004 Durango, and decided to upgrade to Sylvania Silverstars, 9145ST, which according to the Sylvania application guide, fit the 2nd gen Durangos. Got home, and found out two problems- the base of the Silverstar bulb has two ribs that don't match the one rib on the electrical connector. On top of that, the three "ears" on the base of the Silverstar bulb that you engage into the foglamp housing were slightly different, preventing the bulb from being inserted into the foglamp.

The wattage of the Silverstars is 45w, apparently the same as the OEM bulbs. Anyone else have this issue with Silverstars? Are the foglamp housing on the 04's different than other years?

Default RE: 9145 Foglight Bulb Problem

Solved my own problem- Sylvania's application guide is incorrect. Should have looked in the owner's manual first-RTFM!! Correct foglight bulb for the second gen is a 55 watt 9006, not a 9145. They look almost identical!
