I have seen this on other forums wanted to ping out to this forum to see what the genearl consensus is. The driver seat plastic shroud seems to be made of a thin brittle plastic. Have you found your dealer to be willing to replace this obviously inferior component during and post warranty, or have they treated you as if its the first one they have ever seen break, wink wink?

Very common mention on some forums. That plastic part near the seat controls breaks and was even broken on a 2006 12,000 mile rental I had this summer. As for dealers warraty coverage, try it out. Especially on the bumper to bumper warranty. If you get a new one, reinfornce the backside with something befroe reinstall or it will happen all over again.

They should replace it under the bumper to bumper warranty. It includes interior pieces as long as it was not neglect.

 

There is a TSB with upgraded parts for the seat trim. It will be covered under the 3 yr/36k mile warranty.

 

The drivers side seat shroud was replaced under warranty. It has not broken again. 04 Durango 4.7 with 50,000

 

Does anyone have the TSB for this?
