Installing iPod/MP3 connection
Hi, I'm new to this forum.
I have a 2005 Dodge Durango 5.7L HEMI V8 with navigation system.
I've noticed that many new cars have an iPod or MP3 input plug which allows you to play your MP3 player through the speakers of the car. I want to know if it is possible to install an audio-in jack so I can plug it into the earphone jack in my iPod.
If this is possible, how will it show on the display? I know there is an AMFM and VES tab, so will an AUX or MP3 tab appear?
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I have been looking for something to pulg my ipod into to. I know there is a wiring harness that can plug into the back of the radio on radios that have the external cd changer. That harness will show the music on your display. I have yet to find one for an indash cd changer. If I do I will get back to you. If you beat me to it please post it. Thanks
the easiest and most versatile connection you can make with your audio system would be through a radio station. ipod has a lot of accessories to complement your fine choice for quality entertainment. one of those happens to be an fm transmitter. it plugs into your ipod and transmits your music on a radio frequency of your choice, just don't use one that already has a station on your radio.

or, you can get the cassett, if that still happens to be an option in your car.

I bought a factory radio with MP3 jack on the front off eBay for $30 shipped. Item was brand new and I use a belkin remote $25to operate my iPod wirelessly. This way I retained the orginal look and factory infinity system, which I think sounds pretty good. Hope this helps.
