You need to buy the factory trailer harness, it is very easy to install but involves some splicing and running wiring all the way to the front for trailer brakes.

You can get a wiring harness that plugs into the back of the tailights. They are different than the ram or dakota wiring harnesses and they cost a little more but they make them specifically for the durango.

Or you can go to U-Haul and get a universal harness. My R/T that I bought used, I guess the previous owner cut out the factory harness and outlet plug that is usually mounted on the left of the receiver hitch! What an ***. What use would that previous owner have for it? haha. I tried finding a OEM of it in the junkyard to no success yet. And the Dealer wants a whopping $200 bucks for the harness and outlet. So I just settled for the univseral kit from U-Haul for 15-20 bucks and they installed it for me for another $20 bucks. works like a charm.

Sometimes if you rent a trailer from them to use, they'll install the harness for free.
