Default Temperature displayed on trip computer is wrong!

For the last 2 years, the temperature displayed on my trip computer will get stuck. I'll leave my house in the morning and it'll say 44 degrees or something. Then, at lunch time, when I KNOW it's 65 degrees outside, it'll still read 44 degrees. Later on, when I get back in my truck after lunch, it'll display properly. Has anyone else experienced this and if so, what did you do to fix it? If taking it to the dealership is my only option, then I guess I'll do that.

I only notice it is off when I first start out. If I pull out of the garage in the winter, it may say 20 something, even though it's below zero. It takes about 10 min for it to display the correct temp.

Not sure if that helps, but thats what I've seen.

when you open the hood check to see if the sensor has some crap on it, it should be bolted to the rad support or around the frt bumper near one of the headlights
