Default 2004 Limited Dashboard

Has anyone heard of any problems with a 2004 Durango Limited dash board melting? I have had mine since May. About a month ago (as it got hotter) I noticed my dash would get a shiny sticky film after being left in the sun and heat. Once I get the air condition to cool the car, the dash goes back to normal. I asked McPeak Dodge in Anaheim, CA if they were aware of this problem and they were not.

Any help or info would be appreciated.

Mine gets sticky in the heat too. My dealer said they had seen this but did not explain. I will have it in for a few other minor issues and see what they say. One theory is that the stickyness is mold release not removed by the factory. If so, I do not know what it takes to get it off.

My ford Excursion did the same thing. I believe it is normal for the material they are using. Also if you put a dash cover on it may mess up the dash if it sticks tto it.

I noticed it in mine too. also the center section on the steering wheel. Kinda tacky feeling. Weird. [sm=dontgetit.gif]
