99 INTREPID WON'T SHUT OFF
MY 99 INTREPID W/2.7L WON'T SHUT OFF AFTER KEY IS TURNED OFF AND REMOVED. TRIED NEW IGNITION SWITCH NO HELP CHECKED OUT FUSES AND MAIN COMPUTER FOR CORISION, NO HELP. CAN ANYONE HELP?/DOES IT NEED A NEW COMPUTER?
You are not alone, just today my 2003 Intrepid started doing the same thing. The only wayI could stop the engine from running, was toremove the "auto shutdown relay" under the hood. I also picked up an electrical ghost on my dashboard also, the lights would stay on, flicker, go off, go back on again...all with the key removed from the ignition. I tried switching relays around, pulling relays, wiggling the ignition switch, but nothing worked.
Then, I was wiggling the wires coming fromthefuse box under the hood, and the dash lights went out. So I respliced an regrounded those wires. Now, the lights go off like there supposed to but the car keeps on idling roughly when I turn off the ignition.
I am currently waiting for the $9 online question I asked about it.

I have an aftermarket command start that came with the car when I bought it 2 years ago. It never worked properly except for the remote door locks. Maybe now, after all this time it is malfunctioning causing this problem?
Ok, I finally fixed the run-on problem with my 2003 Chyrsler Intrepid. I simply disconnected the negative battery cable from the firewall for about 5 minutes, then reconnected it and it reset all onboard computers in the car. No more run-on and no more electrical ghosts on the dashboard, including the motor trouble light.
Problem fixed.

MY 99 will not shut off either. All sorts off electrical problems started when cluster fuse blew and I replaced it. Car is posessed. Tried to disconect battery for several minutes and it didnt work. Thanks Brent
