2.7L 1999 Model Problem
Hey guys,
I have got this car less then a year, yes i do drive alot from city to city, about 110M a day, but given take 6 months, but the oil change is right on time every 2700Mile. The car started to have knocking noise, and while driving around 60M/h on Freeway it started to shake and over heated and i shut off the engine, stopped, didn't drive it after that, i took it to nearest to freeway oil change place by pushing. They have indicated to get another engine, now it has been about 4 months sitting on my drive way. I am not sure if its the timing chain that cause this or oil Slauge but if anything you guys may know please let me know, i love this car...
Thank you,

I went on searching alot of websites, and to finding if anyone else has same problem, there is alot of info and most of them makes no sence in a way people are keeping putting the Chrysler down.... and some says bad apple and good apple its getting confusing and i see no reply here!..... i have done some things to atleast hear some noises, i have taken pictures and took the Spark plugs off and also feuses and moved them around and brought back to same and brought in new battry and hookup and got power, in light system and when try to turn the engine on i hear Click noise but the engine don't turn!...... any ideas?
Sounds like you have a rod brg failure. Very common at your mileage. Used engines from salvage yards are big $'s. If you only need to repair the bottom end it may not be to bad, but anything more will add up. Try to find a low mileage wreck that you can get an engine from. May be cheaper to buy the whole car.
