Default 2.7L 1999 Model Problem

Hey guys,

I have got this car less then a year, yes i do drive alot from city to city, about 110M a day, but given take 6 months, but the oil change is right on time every 2700Mile. The car started to have knocking noise, and while driving around 60M/h on Freeway it started to shake and over heated and i shut off the engine, stopped, didn't drive it after that, i took it to nearest to freeway oil change place by pushing. They have indicated to get another engine, now it has been about 4 months sitting on my drive way. I am not sure if its the timing chain that cause this or oil Slauge but if anything you guys may know please let me know, i love this car...

Thank you,

Car: Interpid
Year: 1999
KM: 215000
When Purchased KM: 183220

Sounds like you have a rod brg failure. Very common at your mileage. Used engines from salvage yards are big $'s. If you only need to repair the bottom end it may not be to bad, but anything more will add up. Try to find a low mileage wreck that you can get an engine from. May be cheaper to buy the whole car.
