Default Driverside window

I just purchased a 1999 Intrepid SE with 116k. The car is very clean and well maintained. Besides needing two front tires, the driverside window doesn't go down, the motor operates though. I'm assumong the glass came disconnected from the sill,I can feel/hear themechanism working. How hard is the fix?

TIA,
Jim

Its prob the gear (stripped). You won't know until you open up and look, but if you have to change the entire assy, get ready for some cuts and slices on your hands! It has been my experience that the sharp metal sneeks up while you are not looking, and give you a little slice here and there!

I can feel the whole mechanism moving/working in the door, and I can see the window move a tad when the the sill reaches the top of its travel. I think the glass just came out of the sill. Just curious on how hard it is to remove the door panel.

If the glass were "out of the sill", it would be all the way down, and not able to stay up. Door pnl is easy (10 min tops), a few screws...one in the arm rest/door pul... and a few clips... just download the manual (top of fourm marked "Holy Grail" and see pg 23-24 for a step-by-step.
