trunk lock cylinder!
well, my 01 intrepid...the trunk lock cylinder (the part that you put the key in) is all seized up. we've tried shooting it up from the outside with liquid wrench, PB blaster, wd40, and a ton of other lubes like that...it hasn't come unstuck. we've tried shooting it up from the inside with the same stuff, again, to no avail. we contacted the stealership about getting a replacement...$43 for the cylinder itself, and $40 more to get it keyed properly.
would it be worth going to the junkyard to buy an old one? or, are there any generic alternatives i could try? i.e. a one-size-fits-all trunk lock?

Most locksmiths (real one, not in Walmart!) can re-key a tumbeler. I'd call around and find one, then check their price. If cheeper with a junkyard purchace and you are willing to drive all over, then thats the route. Sometimes one stop shopping is the best though...with the price of gas and all!
