Default No Fire

I have a 2002 dodge intrepid wit a 2.7. I had a bad sludge problem. well I resolved that problem but now I can't get no fire from the plug wires. ran the OBDII and got no error codes. at first I thought it was a fuel issue but after checking the fuel pump and my injectors I found no problems. I changed all 6 spark plugs and still no fire. I check the plug wires and seems to be getting no fire at all. I don't believe that my battery is fully charged to 12 volts. could this be the problem or is there a more serious problem that I may have?

Default RE: No Fire

It sounds ASD related. Are you getting PSI at the fuel rail? Use the manual at the top of the second gen fourm (holy grail) and check out the ASD system. BTW, if you have enough juice to crank the starter, there should be plenty to fire the coil pack.

What was the resolution for the sludge? What maint did you preform? You may have left off a connector etc.

I had a crank sensor go bad on my 97 once and had no OBDII code, only a MIL 11 (old key trick) that pointed to the sensor. I know the 2nd gen gives the P code when you do the "key trick", but the P code (OBDII) was a let down for my 97. I don't know if that issue was resolved for the 2nd gen. If not, the code may just not display and your crank sensor may be at fault.
