Default Fuel filter is?

hello,
My intrepid was at first becoming slightly jerky all of a sudden whenever my car became low on gas. After a week the engine light came on and now its at the shop. The mechanic gave a bunch suggestions that didn't make sense to me except a fuel system clean. So besides a fuel injection, i wanted to know where exactly where the fuel filter was, so i can have them replace it.

the fuel filter is built into the fuel pump. you would have to replace the entire pump to get a new filter. what was the engine code listed? if your check engine light ever comes on in the future, post here first as it may be a simple fix. verify from your mechanic what specific code (it will be a PXXX--where the X's are numbers) such as P0306, P1684.
could be a stuck injector, bad coil, bad plugs, bad crank sensor....
until we get that code, it can be anyones guess. but don't ask for a fuel filter....
