best seal for tranny pan

Is the gasket that is given with the filter best to use, or is there a sealer (like what was on it) best to use?

The gasket I used was a metal & rubber gasket (2.7) and I was told NOT to use sealant.

I use mopar ATF RTV and have had no problem. Just clean both surfaces well before you put it together and let it dry a couple minutes before you put the ATF in.
